A lock is an item or stuff made of material like iron, aluminum or steel used for securing buildings, rooms, premises, stores and many personal and commercial properties. A person who is engaged wit designing and manufacturing of the locks is usually called as locksmith. A locksmith is a person who is a professional lock designer and mechanics that repairs locks. Locksmithing is the art of making and defeating locks. 

The locks are normally supposed to have a key with them which are used to open the locks. With the time technology has changed and with this change the lock has also changed a lot. Now there are a verity of locks with more complex and technical keys to open them. Many Lock can be found with a multiply key to open it like the security locks at research places and also at small level i.e. even in our homes. These locks come with security code and a key. Many use smart card operations and some them requires human verification like finger prints. The Locksmith who is designing these types of locks needs to be more technical and professionals at their works.
